About

Finance, operations, and a deep commitment to social impact.

Julia Oran

I work at the intersection of finance, operations, and social impact, helping mission-driven organizations create the systems they need to sustain their work.

I spent six years in technology, leading teams at Code for America and partnering with state and federal agencies on projects that served millions of people. Along the way I realized what energized me most wasn't just the technical work — it was designing the processes, analyzing the systems, and figuring out how to make impact scalable and sustainable.

That insight brought me to Berkeley Haas for my MBA, where I'm focusing on social sector finance as an Impact CFO Fellow. I'm learning to pair my operational background with financial strategy to help nonprofits thrive.

I'm drawn to organizations tackling big, systemic challenges — poverty, criminal justice reform, healthcare equity — and I want to help make sure they have the financial and operational infrastructure to do that work well, and for the long term.

Always happy to connect with people working on finance, operations, or systems in the social sector.
